Michele blends powerful, emotionally charged vocals and edgy, infectious pop rock music with a wonderful talent for lyrical imagery, to create a true work of art. Michele’s personal story is revealed in each song, from her inspiring journey of losing over 230 lbs in two years recording her album, following her dream to become a singer-songwriter, her struggle with depression and surviving trauma and heartache. “A Work in Progress” is a spectacular musical tour de force, exposing the vulnerabilities of the heart and the strength of the human spirit with honesty, humor and passion.
Her dynamic stage presence and connection to audiences, commands attention and draws people into a truly captivating performance. Her original songs blur a defined genre, blending the organic sound of real musicians with digital sequencing and programming to create a unique, multi-layered sound with orchestral leanings that spans pop, rock, alternative, reggae, metal, latin and R&B. Michele’s a voting member of: National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences (NARAS) (aka producers of the Grammys), DC Chapter member and serves on their Baltimore membership board; Washington Area Music Association (WAMA); Songwriters Association of Washington (SAW); Baltimore Songwriters Association (BSA); and registered BMI recording artist.
Background
Born in DC, raised in Maryland, she currently resides in Baltimore City. A long-time, seasoned singer-songwriter, musician and performer, Michele’s, songs are confessional, some cheeky and humorous, others very dark and serious, with topics ranging from love and sex to domestic violence and her struggles with depression. She has received awards for her original music and composes with DAW software, blending sound effects, loops, electronic and live instruments with powerful, emotionally-charged vocals and edgy, lyrical imagery.
Michele has extensive acting, vocal and music training, and has performed in plays, performance art, improv and dance groups, chorales, musical theatre, orchestras, marching bands, classical, contemporary/pop/rock and jazz ensembles. Michele plays numerous instruments in addition to vocals, flute, piccolo, including saxophone, harmonica, percussion, keyboard/synths and is currently studying guitar and ukulele.

Michele’s impressive, five-octave vocal range (F2-G7 which spans baritone up past soprano into “whistle” ranges) balances extreme passion and strength with vulnerability, honed under vocal coaches Annie Eidolon, Carol Westcott and currently Rebekah Eden. Michele teaches voice and performance privately and is a vocal instructor at School of Rock. Michele’s philosophy is simple – put on a good show! She focuses not only on vocal and performance techniques but the importance of connecting with the audience, making a statement and most importantly – having fun! She’s taught at various schools, colleges, camps and private lessons for all ages and music genres. She also provides songwriting, artistic development and music business consulting services to help other performers navigate the industry and make music a money-making career and protect themselves and their creative property.

Michele established and hosts the monthly Baltimore Songwriters Showcase and Siren Fair All-Female Showcase. The showcases enable local songwriters and musicians to perform their original songs and network. They also provide exposure to up and coming talent and elevates audience expectations and palates of what real music and art is. Michele is the Event Director and a performer for the annual “See the Good” Suicide Prevention Benefit Concert that features numerous local Baltimore bands, coming together to raise money for the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention. Michele also founded and hosts the “Seen and Heard” Creative Open Mic that not only features local musicians but also is open to artists and performers of ANY format/genre including such as painting, print-making, and other visual arts as well as acting, improv, poetry/spoken word, comedy and other performance art. Michele wants all of Baltimore Arts & Music to come together to build a solid community of support and increase awareness of the amazing artist expression present in the Baltimore/MD/DC area.
